Both Bentley Map and Bentley Map Enterprise now include the Survey Tools from Bentley’s Civil products. These tools import files produced by a wide number of survey instruments to Bentley survey features. Various editing tools are available to reduce and adjust the data. In addition, surfaces (i.e. terrain models) can be created from the imported data.

The Survey Tools must be enabled by defining a configuration variable when starting Bentley Map. This is because the interface between the Survey Tools and Bentley Map is not yet complete, nor are there tools to create and maintain the survey feature definitions. This integration will be improved in a future Bentley Map release. However, for certain customers, there is value in making these tools available now as a technology preview.

To enable the survey related components of the Survey Tools, add the following variable to the command line used to start Bentley Map.
